As a professional with over 20 years of leadership in all aspects of Human Resource administration and management, Sue Kmet set up shop as a consultant in order to offer her knowledge base to organizations that share her love of people – a company’s greatest asset. Having been exposed to multiple industries throughout her career including legal services, airlines, broadcasting, genetics, poultry and agriculture, Sue enjoys developing targeted solutions to human capital issues.
Her reputation for integrity and professionalism helps to ensure organizational success by matching business strategies with HR policies to keep your employees as committed to you as you are to them. Sue is an experienced communicator, public speaker and trainer, and has hands-on experience in putting together training coursework. She is also an effective manager of departments and supervisor of staffs.
Those are her credentials, but that is simply where Sue’s passion begins. She is a civic leader and is a former Governor’s appointee to Iowa’s Workforce Board representing employers. She is also a community-spirited volunteer having organized fundraisers and served on the Board of Directors for non-profits such as Bras for the Cause and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Sue was honored to receive Iowa’s Volunteer of the Year award from Make-A-Wish in 2011.
This motivated lifetime learner holds her Master’s degree in Management and is one of only 12 dual-credentialed HR professionals in the state of Missouri, having earned both the SPHR and GPHR certifications. In addition to HR Sue is also authorized to teach OSHA 10 and 30 hour classes and Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED classes.
In a nutshell, Sue is your advocate and go-to HR/Training resource.
I highly recommend Sue Kmet for your next engagement survey. My team worked with Sue to originate and conduct an employee engagement survey for three groups in October 2017. Sue expertly crafted surveys for each employee group (Operations, Administration and Management) and executed the surveys professionally and confidentially. We received comments from our employees that they appreciated the obvious anonymity in this process compared to past surveys. Once she had the data, Sue followed up with walk-throughs of the information with our Leadership and Management teams, and conducted overviews of the information with the employee groups to continue focusing on transparency and respect. Sue made the process easy for my team and ensured the integrity of the data while explaining the results.Katie Stull
Sue is the most knowledgeable and customer focused Human Resources professional that I have ever worked with! Her work proved effective, and was benchmarked, with improved inter-company communications, improved employee safety, and uniform policy implementation across all departments. Sue was always a ray of sunshine wherever she worked, her personality engaged all her colleagues. She took training to employees within their bio-secure work areas, she was willing to learn much about compliance with high level bio-security procedures in order to train employees within their own work area and comfort zones.Dr. Neil O’Sullivan

Sue Kmet was the HR Manager for Hy-Line International and was able to lead the company to a more heightened awareness in safety and loss management and establishing general and dept. specific training goals to increase productivity and reduce cost in managing / hiring and training of employees. During her tenure at Hy-Line International she was also able to provide valuable resources in reducing turnover and increasing employee participation.
Sue was also a consummate professional and she helped develop our managers to their fullest potential.
Sue entered Hy-Line at time when there was little formal structure to HR policies and procedures in our company. Sue, in a focused and professional manner, quickly developed programs and policies in line with the company, mission, culture and identified needs to streamline HR functions. Sue then set about developing systematic training programs to develop employee engagement and eventual empowerment within the new HR systems and policies of the company.Dr. Neil O’Sullivan
I had the pleasure of working with Sue for a diversity initiative we held within our organization. Sue provided the highest level of professionalism, expertise, and knowledge when dealing with our employees. Sue dedicated her time to conduct close to 30 interviews over a two day period. Sue’s presentation to our leadership team was organized, thoughtful, and very personal. She took the time to get to know our employees and provided excellent feedback. I would strongly recommend Sue to anyone looking to expand their knowledge as it relates to Human Resources.Emily McMahon
